On March 22 in Kharkov, the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine solemnly celebrated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Ukraine (23 January 23, 1992 – January 23, 2017).

Attending the ceremony were the Governor of Kharkov Province, Mrs. Yulia Svetlychnaya, senior officials in Kharkov city, Ukraine veterans and experts who have worked in Vietnam, embassy staff, representatives of Vietnamese associations together with Vietnamese compatriots in Kharkov province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Minh Tri affirmed that Vietnam and Ukraine have a long-lasting friendship built and cultivated by generations of people in the two countries. Vietnam always keeps in mind the tremendous help that the people of Ukraine have dedicated to the people of Vietnam in the cause of protecting and building the country.

The establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 25 years ago once again affirms the will and determination of leaders and people of the two countries to strengthen relations in all aspects. Over the past 25 years, the two countries' relations have been greatly strengthened and upgraded to comprehensive partnership and cooperation.

On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tri expressed his deep gratitude to the Government and the people of Ukraine in general, the people of Kharkov province in particular, for their precious help to Vietnam in the cause of national defense and construction. He affirmed his determination to continue consolidating and enhancing the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Ukraine and believed that the relationship between the two countries would take new steps in the future.

At the ceremony, Mrs. Svetlychnaya and Kharkov leaders praised the Vietnamese people for having overcome difficult hardships and achieving great achievements in the cause of national independence and national construction; appreciated the traditional friendship between the two countries and expressed their wish to consolidate and further strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Ukraine in the coming time./.
