(VNF) - The University of Languages and International Studies (Hanoi National University) in coordination with the US Embassy in Vietnam on June 28 held a conference themed "Focus on Forum: Ideas for Teaching and Publishing", hosted by Editor-in-Chief of the English Teaching and Publishing, Thomas Glass.

Vice Rector of ULIS, Lam Quang Dong, lecturers of the universities and students of master programme attended the programme.

At the conference, Thomas Glass briefly introduced to teachers in ULIS about the "English Teaching Forum", a quarterly journal for English teachers sponsored by the US Department of State. The journal's printed version has been published via the US Embassy since 1962, while the e-version was kick started in 2001.

The American expert later explained to the participants every step of the publishing process of the "English Teaching Forum" and gave advice on how to make the best use of information provided by the journal.

During the talk, Editor-in-Chief Thomas Glass also shared with ULIS teachers and officers his experiences in the field of international publication, and answered their inquiries regarding scientific research.

In addition to presentation, the conference also included group discussion activities, which made it more interactive and help participants gain deeper insights of the topic./.
