Belarus sends humanitarian aid to Vietnam

(VNF) - A delegation of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, accompanying the delivery of humanitarian cargo, visited Ninh Ich commune Of Ninh Hoa District on January 22nd, according to a press release by the Belarusian Embassy.

Ninh Hoa District is one of the worst affected regions of Khanh Hoa province by typhoon Damrey, which battered central Vietnam on November, 2017.

A ceremony of partial handing of the humanitarian aid to the leaders of Ninh Hoa District and People’s Committee of Ninh Ich commune for further distribution among the local population was held with the participation of Ambassador of Belarus Vladimir Goshin and Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations of Belarus Aleksandr Khudoleev.

The humanitarian aid includes goods from Belarusian producers such as food products (children’s dry mixes, cereals, canned meat), tents, blankets, diesel power generators, and camp cots.

In addition, the delegation visited local Health Center, where the first aid was provided to the victims of the disaster, as well as one of the public school among four functioning in the commune.

The delivery of humanitarian aid is being held within the most significant for Vietnamese people holiday - upcoming Lunar New Year or Tet.

The humanitarian cargo weighing a total of 42 tonnes landed at Cam Ranh Airport in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on January 21st./.
