Blood donation in support of child patients during mid-Autumn festival
On September 19th, the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) held a blood donation festival entitled “Mid-Autumn festival for children 2015” which attracted thousands of volunteers in Hanoi.
The festival was the gathering of thousands of young people who are living and studying in Hanoi.
A lot of young people came to the NIHBT to donate blood and join activities of the festival.
With the large number of blood donors, the doctors were very busy transferring blood.
According to the organising committee, the festival was expected to collect some 2,000 units of blood from 10,000 participants.
The festival also attracted older people.
After three years, the festival has became a gathering of kind-hearted people, showing the solidarity and love for unlucky children.
Pham Tuan Duong, NIHBT Vice President, said that the festival was of great significance for the patients.
A large number of volunteers join the blood donation in the afternoon.
A lot of other activities were held at the festival.
