Book “Ho Chi Minh: Humanity and development” introduced in Canada

The Vietnamese Embassy in Canada and author-Dr. Nguyen Dai Trang, lecturer of Centennial College organized the introduction of the book “Ho Chi Minh: Humanity and development” at “Vietnam House” in Ottawa city on May 28th to welcome the 125th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Canada and author-Dr. Nguyen Dai Trang, lecturer of Centennial College organized the introduction of the book “Ho Chi Minh: Humanity and development” at “Vietnam House” in Ottawa city on May 28th to welcome the 125th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

Speaking at the introduction ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Canada To Anh Dung applauded the author -Dr. Nguyen Dai Trang, the first overseas Vietnamese to conduct valuable scientific research about President Ho Chi Minh.

The ambassador hoped the second book written about President Ho Chi Minh by Dr. Nguyen Dai Trang will help readers at home and abroad understand more about Uncle Ho’s human values as well as thoughts about the cause of unification of the country, preservation of national independence and development of the country.

He also shared thinkings and feelings while reading this book and introduced a portrait of Uncle Ho in pastels in large format by painter Gelinas presenting to the Vietnamese Embassy on the occasion of 69th anniversary of the National Day of Vietnam.

Dr. Nguyen Dai Trang said she was thrilled about introducing the book on the occasion of the birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, because the purpose of the book was to help people learn more about the life and career of the President; the ideology of Uncle Ho; the path of national liberation, human liberation, towards independence, freedom, happiness; policies to ensure social justice, build human resources, towards sustainable development such as gender equality and environmental protection.

At the event, painter Gelinas said that he very much admired the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, especially his opening perceptions of the outside world.

The book was published in Vietnamese, English and French. With more than 200 pages and seven chapters, the book contains valuable images, important documents and a deep understanding about President Ho Chi Minh from a overseas Vietnamese patriotic intellectual. The book has made a positive impact in political circles, Canadian people and the overseas Vietnamese community. It has also provided local readers with evaluation and feelings,of an overseas Vietnamese intellectuals about beloved Uncle Ho.

The first book about Uncle Ho by Dr. Nguyen Dai Trang “Ho Chi Minh - Mind and Talent of a patriot” was launched in May 2010./.
