A cruise ship with 2,600 passengers on board stopped over in central Vietnam on Wednesday before leaving for a southern resort city.

The Sapphire Princess, which was carrying 2,600 international travelers and 1,080 crew members from Hong Kong, docked at Nha Trang Port in the morning.

Sapphire Princess has British nationality.

The passengers visited famous attractions in Nha Trang City, the capital of Khanh Hoa Province located along the south-central coast.

Most of them enjoyed their cyclo (pedicab) rides around the city.

The ship departed for Vung Tau City, some 100 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, on Wednesday evening.

Six cruise ships in total have docked at Nha Trang Port with over 10,000 passengers aboard since February 19, the beginning of this year’s Tet (Lunar New Year).

The number of international sea tourists to Vietnam has soared around and after Tet, with several foreign cruise ships docking in different provinces.
