Chinese friendship activist honoured with insignia

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) awarded an amity insignia to Li Xiaolin, head of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, at a ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday.

(VNF) - The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) conferred a" For Peace and Friendship among Nations” insignia, its noblest honor, for Li Xiaolin, head of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, at a ceremony held in Hanoi on Saturday.

The honor presentation ceremony was attended by Chinese ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong, Chinese delegates and VUFO officials.

Speaking at the event, VUFO’s President Vu Xuan Hong appreciated Li Xiaolin’s notable contributions in coordinating a wide range of meaningful programmes, such as the Vietnam-China Friendship Festival, the Vietnam-China People’s Forum, activities to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Vietnam-China ties and a tour allowing participants to travel to destinations where late Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh had been to during his lifetime.

Hong expressed his hopes that Li will keep up her integral role in beefing up the two countries' ties.

Li said she was honoured to receive the insignia and underscored that people of the two countries will strive to further foster the amity forged by the two nations’ leaders./.
