According to the MoU, the two sides appreciated the cooperation and mutual assistance over the past time, confirming to exert continued efforts in the cooperation between the two archives departments.

Over the past years, important cooperation has been achieved with a range of matters, including training university graduates and MAs for Laos, exchanging experience in records management and archives and consideration towards building the Lao National Archives Centre which uses the non-refundable capital from the Vietnamese Government for the Lao Government.

Under the MoU set for 2016, the Vietnamese side will train 5 graduates and 2 MAs on archives. In addition, the State Records Management and Archives Department of Vietnam will send experts to Laos for training in records management and archives knowledge among Lao archives officials.

Meanwhile, archives agencies from the two countries will continue to exchange lists of archives documents, inform each other of conferences and meetings on archives and records management, and exchange scientific archives and records management documents as well as publications released by the two departments./.
