CPI rises 0.35% in June

(VNF) – The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in June, soared 0.35% from the previous month, bringing the figure for the first half of the year to 0.86% year on year, reported the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s General Statistics Office (GSO) at a press conference on June 24th, in Hanoi.

(VNF) – The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in June, soared 0.35% from the previous month, bringing the figure for the first half of the year to 0.86% year on year, reported the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s General Statistics Office (GSO) at a press conference on June 24th, in Hanoi.

Specifically, eight commodity groups saw CPI rises in June over a month earlier, including beverage and cigarette (0.24%), garments, textiles, hats and footwear (0.17%), housing and building materials (0.3%), equipment and housing appliances (0.12%), medicine and health service (0.38%), transport (3.54%), culture, entertainment and service (0.26%) and other commodities and services (0.12%).

The education group witnessed a stable price index while both restaurant and food services and post-telecom had price reductions of 0.03%.

Mr. Nguyen Bich Lam, GSO General Director said the price of petrol price increased by VND1,200 per litre (up 6.2%) from May 20th and diesel oil was adjusted up two times by VND640 per litre (up 3.9%).

In addition, the price of health services in Ho Chi Minh City went up 0.43% from early June, contributing 0.2% to the price hike in June./.
