A conference on unknotting for foreigners and overseas Vietnamese to buy house in Vietnam was held by Thanh Nien Newspaper in Ho Chi Minh csity on September 14th.

To create conditions for foreigner and overseas Vietnamese to buy house in Vietnam, experts at the conference said that the Ministry of Construction should quickly finalize and then submit to the Government for approval of decrees and instructions on implementation of the Housing Law. Localities should strengthen administrative reform, provide public and transparent information about projects, the number of apartments, conditions to buy house for customers, who are foreigners and overseas Vietnamese.

"In term of finance, foreign exchange management has instructions promulgated by the State Bank of Vietnam. However, to implement the Housing Law in 2014, we need to have more specific instructions on putting capital into Vietnam and disinvestment to foreign countries. There are clear regulations, expatriates and foreign investors feel secure that their investment is legitimate, appropriate with the policies of Vietnam," said Mr. Tran Hoa Phuong, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh city Committee for Overseas Vietnamese.

Currently, there are over 80,000 foreigners living and working in Vietnam, and tens of thousands of overseas Vietnamese regularly return the homeland every year. This is a huge potential for the real estate business in the nation./.
