(VNF) - Danish Minister for Trade and Development Cooperation Mogens Jensen will pay a visit to Vietnam from January 19th to 22nd, the Danish Embassy in Vietnam has reported.

The visit aims to reinforce the positive partnership and strong commercial relations between Denmark and Vietnam, with a focus on political consultations followed by meetings on commercial opportunities.

“Vietnam is an important priority in Danish foreign policy in terms of both political and economic areas,” says Danish Minister for Trade and Development Cooperation Mogens Jensen. “I look forward to further strengthening our partnership and close cooperation.”

Since 1994, Denmark has provided over USD1.3 billion in development assistance for Vietnam, which has contributed to the strong growth and the social and economic development in Vietnam.

The trade between Vietnam and Denmark has developed positively since 2009 with a growth of over 75%. Vietnamese investments in Denmark have almost doubled and Danish investments in Vietnam have almost tripled. There are currently 130 Danish companies doing business in Vietnam.

The signing of the comprehensive partnership agreement in 2013 has further strengthened the political dialogue, trade and investments between Vietnam and Denmark.

The Danish Minister for Trade and Development Cooperation will be accompanied by over 40 businessmen working in the food, climate and energy sectors who are eager to partner up with Vietnamese companies./.
