Le Minh Khai's Biography

Le Minh Khai was born on December 10, 1964, in Vinh Phu Tay Commune, Phuoc Long District, Bac Lieu Province. In a speech published in Bac Lieu newspaper, Le Minh Khai said that after graduating from high school, he was sent to the Soviet Union to study economics.

Le Van Khai joined the Communist Party of Vietnam on August 14, 1990, said VCCI. He was granted a Second-Class Labor Order for his hard work and achievements.

Le Minh Khai was a member of the Party Central Committee in the 12th and 13th tenures, Secretary of the Party Central Committee in the 13th tenure, a deputy to the National Assembly in 14th tenure, according to VGP.

Le Minh Khai's tasks as Deputy Prime Minister

Possessing more than 30 years of experience in economics, Le Minh Khai assists the Prime Minister in monitoring and directing the following fields:

- General economic affairs, including planning, finance, pricing, monetary-banking, capital market, stock market, financial investment sources, State reserves, macroeconomic forecasts, and policies.

- Salary and social insurance policies, poverty reduction.

- Development of types of enterprises.

- Cooperative economy, cooperatives.

- Rearrangement and innovation of State enterprises

He also assists the Prime Minister in monitoring and directing the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Finance, the State Bank of Viet Nam, the Commission for Management of State Capital At Enterprises, the Viet Nam Development Bank, the National Financial Supervisory Commission, the Viet Nam Social Insurance, the Viet Nam Bank for Social Policies, and the Deposit Insurance of Viet Nam, VGP cited.

Khai serves as Chairman of the National Advisory Council for Financial and Monetary Policies, Head of the Central Steering Committee for National Target Program on New-countryside Building, Head of the Central Steering Committee for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Head of the Central Steering Committee for Salary and Social Insurance Policies Reform, Head of the Steering Committee for Development and Reform of Collective Economy and Cooperatives, Head of the Steering Committee for Development and Renewal of Enterprises, Head of the Steering Committee for Settlement of Shortcomings and Weaknesses of Several Inefficient Projects and Enterprises of the Industry and Trade Sector, Chairman of other national councils and committees and head of other steering committees in relevant fields.
