An exhibition on the theme of ASEAN’s Cultural Heritage started on January 17th in the Kon Tum’s museum in the Central Highlands.

(VNF) - An exhibition on the theme of ASEAN’s Cultural Heritage started on January 17th in the Kon Tum’s museum in the Central Highlands.

The event was attended by Deputy Secretary of Laos’ Attapeu Province, Mynaphon Xaysomphu, Lao students in Vietnam and local visitors.

It is among a series of events to celebrate Vietnamese Lunar New Year, the 88th anniversary of the foundation the Vietnam Comunist Party, the 105th anniversary of the establishment of Kon Tum province and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the border landmark along the border of the three Indochinese countries, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

The exhibition aims to connect the cultural values of ASEAN member countries and Kon Tum in particular, and the establishment of a peaceful, dynamic and developed region.

Deputy Chairwoman of Kon Tum’s People’s Committee, Tran Thi Nga said it was a meaningful event, an occasion to introduce the country, its people and the cultural values of ASEAN countries - and Kon Tum Province.

The exhibition showcases 334 works and 39 items in which 10 photos that won the 2017 ASEAN Photo contest.

The exhibition has three themes: the first features the life, landscape, culture and traditional costumes of people in ASEAN countries with 240 photos and 39 artefacts.

Another 40 photos illustrate the second theme, which reflects the deep friendship between Kon Tum Province, the southern provinces of Laos and the northeastern provinces of Cambodia.

More than 50 photos also give visitors a lively picture of Kon Tum over its 105 year history as well as the traditional cultural features of ethnic groups in the province.

The exhibition will run until Sunday (January 21st)./.
