Female Vietnamese diplomat awarded French order of merit

Minister-Counselor at the Vietnamese Embassy to Paris, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hue, has been awarded France’s National Order of Merit in recognition of her contributions to boosting friendship between the two nations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Jean-François Girault, former French Ambassador to Vietnam, appraised the contributions of Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hue in the development of the comprehensive relationship between France and Vietnam.

He also reviewed the process of study and work of Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hue in France over past 30 years. She had also studied at famous universities in France.

Ms. Elisabeth Laurin from the French Foreign Ministry highlighted Hue’s significant contributions to the successful organization of the Vietnam-France Exchange Year (2013-2014) and the arrangement of high-ranking visits of leaders of the two countries.

Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son appreciated his colleague’s contributions and added that the Order of Merit further highlighted the special relationship between the countries.

Afterwards, Minister-Counselor Nguyen Thi Bich Hue expressed her honor on receiving the distinction. She also recalled teachers who taught her the French language and chief officers who taught her diplomatic skills.

She also promised to continue to make more contributions to the development of the friendly relationship./.
