The special film screenings will be held from February 3rd-18th across the country to celebrate the 88th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party (February 3rd, 1930-2018).

It aims to provide the public more knowledge of history, culture and national sovereignty and territorial integrity under CPV’s sound leadership; educate the historical tradition; promote love for the country and pride of the nation.

It is also an interesting gift for cinema-goers on the veranda of the Lunar New Year.

The organising board selected many significant documentaries and films such as Cao Hon Bau Troi (Higher Than the Sky), directed by Xuan Cuong, honouring the victory of the Vietnamese army and people in Hanoi during the 12 days and nights fighting an onslaught from the U.S. Air Force in 1972. The film is highly regarded by cinematic experts.

Other films include Dinh Cao Chien Thang (Climax of Victory) about the Linebacker 2 campaign in 1972, Duong Toi Doc Lap Tu Do (Way to Independence, Freedom) directed by Le Phong Lan, Dung Dot (Don’t Burn) directed by Dang Nhat Minh and Nha Tien Tri (The Prophecy), a biopic of President Ho Chi Minh directed by Vuong Duc.

The establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1930 is considered a milestone of national salvation. It stressed the Party’s work to build its institutions, prevent ideological, ethical and lifestyle degradation and bolster the phenomena of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” within the Party./.
