In the first 4 months of this year, 35,709 Vietnamese labourers went to work abroad, accounting for 37.58% of the year’s target, according to statistics from the Overseas Labourers Management Department under the Ministry of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).

In April alone, nearly 10,000 labourers were sent to work abroad; of which the Taiwanese (China) labour market received the largest number of labourers (6,631), followed by Japan (2,059), Malaysia (556), Arab Saudi (350) and the Republic of Korea (187).

In 2015, Taiwan (China) continues to be identified as a key labour market for Vietnamese labourers as it receives common labourers with rather good income while it also provides an adequate legal framework to protect labourers.

Meanwhile, the Japanese labour market mainly recruits on-the-job trainees within 3 years at maximum. In addition, Japan is in need of high quality labourers such as design engineers, mechanics engineers and nursing staff.

In the RoK, under the special memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed on April 10th between Vietnam’s MOLISA and the RoK’s Ministry of Employment and Labour on receiving Vietnamese labourers into the Korean labour market, the market agreed to receive 5,400 profiles, with 2,900 labourers expected to be selected to work in the manufacturing, construction and agriculture sectors./.
