The Northern Helicopter Company of the Vietnam Helicopter Corporation under the Ministry of National Defense successfully conducted the first flight service on route Ha Long (Quang Ninh province) - Hanoi on January 1.

Notably, the flight started from Hanoi to Ha Long on December 31, 2017 and safely returned the Gia Lam Helicopter Station in Hanoi the following day.

The flight was operated by two crew-members of the company on a French-made EC 155-B1 helicopter. At present, the company uses this kind of helicopters for tourism and medical emergency purposes.

Their passengers were an American couple and their three children.

Right after the helicopter landed, Senior Colonel Do Xuan Hoa, Director of the company was present at the station to welcome the passengers with a small reception event.

On behalf of her family, Aline Litchfield Shapiro, who was very touched by the welcoming ceremony, expressed her pleasure at the helicopter tour to the World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay, and promised to come back Vietnam next year and enjoy the service of the Northern Helicopter Company.

Meanwhile, Senior Colonel Hoa shared that in spite of difficulties, his company completed all set targets in 2017, especially safely conducting flights for military-defense missions./.
