On June 24th, the storm directly struck the localities of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Bac Giang and Lang Son with the consequential torrential rain storm reported, causing serious flooding to land and property in Lai Chau, Son La, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.

It was clear to see that Son La, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong and Thanh Hoa were the hardest hit localities, forcing them to request assistance from the Government.

Accordingly, the assistance will mainly be used to support the lives of people and improve the infrastructure and dyke systems.

According to the Prime Minister’s assistance, Son La will receive VND20 billion; Quang Ninh, VND15 billion; Hai Phong, VND15 billion; Hai Duong, VND10 billion and Thanh Hoa, VND10 billion.

The Prime Minister also requested localities to use local budget and mobilise capital from other resources to overcome the consequences of the flood./.
