Hanoi International Marathon 2019 call for participants
(VNF) - In April 2019, Hanoi’s streets will become the field track of the capital’s first international marathon, the Hanoi International Marathon 2019.
Scheduled on April 14, the event aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and support for the two active charitable non-governmental organization, Operation Smile and Newborns Vietnam.
Along the road, runners can explore the best of the capital’s treasured landmark. (source: HIM 2019)
Hanoi International Marathon 2019 is jointly held by Topas Travel company, the Hanoi People’s Committee, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sport and the Embassy of Denmark.
Participants in the event can choose to take part in one of the three routes: the 10km run, Half Marathon (21km) and Full Marathon (42km).
The run is expected to be a great opportunity to promote tourism, as runners will have chance to enjoy the best of the capital’s treasured landmark along their running track.

For the 10km race, 10km runners will race through downtown Hanoi, passing the Independence Park before completing a route around the Old Quarter and arriving at the finish line nearby Hoan Kiem lake.
Meanwhile, the 21-km track will take the participants through the French Quarter and around Hai Ba Trung street before visiting the south of West Lake, heading back to the Old Quarter for a final run to Hoan Kiem lake.
The full marathon (42 km) will cover the French Quarter, Ba Dinh, West Lake, Truc Bach and finally the Old Quarter before stopping at the same finish line.
Besides promoting tourism and a healthy lifestyle, the Hanoi International Marathon 2019 is held with a charitable purpose, since it will help raise fund for two NGOs, Operation Smile and Newborns Vietnam.
