HCM City launches activities marking Uncle Ho’s call for patriotic emulation
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on March 27 launched the emulation movement to implement socio-economic tasks in 2018 and celebrate the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948).

Under the theme of "Being innovative and creative to build Ho Chi Minh City into a smart and modern city", Ho Chi Minh City expects to achieve a growth rate of 8.3 to 8.5 percent in GDP, total investment rate for social development at 35 percent, and a total budget revenue rate at 100 percent.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Phong, member of the Central Party Committee and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, stressed that the city will take all necessary measures, such as enhancing leadership roles of departments, state agencies and units, promoting information dissemination on President Ho Chi Minh's thought on patriotic emulation, renovating contents and forms of emulation movements and developing human resources to implement well emulation movements in the coming time./.
