HCM city licensed over 14,700 new firms in six months

(VNF) – Over 14,700 new enterprises in Ho Chi Minh city were licensed for establishment in the first half of the year, with a registered capital of over VND99.7 trillion, said Mr. Thai Van Re, Director of the Municipal Department of Planning and Investment.

(VNF) – Over 14,700 new enterprises in Ho Chi Minh city were licensed for establishment in the first half of the year, with a registered capital of over VND99.7 trillion, said Mr. Thai Van Re, Director of the Municipal Department of Planning and Investment.

These figures saw a 27.3% rise in number of enterprises and a 62.6% increase in registered capital.

During the period, over 21,000 enterprises registered an additional capital of over VND59.4 trillion, up 4.3% in number of enterprise and up 1.2% in capital over a year earlier.

Together with increase in new enterprises number, the city witnessed a reduction in number of dissolved enterprises. Specifically, as of June 20th, nearly 1,160 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, a 5.2% decrease over a year earlier.

In common with good signals from domestic enterprises, FDI in the city continued to be positive. As of June 20th, 258 FDI projects were licensed with a capital of over USD798 million. In addition, 84 projects registered an increased capital of nearly USD410 million, a 3.7 fold increase year on year. On the whole, FDI capital in the city in the six months reached USD1.2 billion, a year-on-year rise of 12.2%./.
