Nearly 2.5 million foreign tourist arrivals visited Ho Chi Minh city in the first seven months of the year, a year-on-year rise of 4%, reported the municipal People’s Committee.

Total tourism turnover grossed over VND53 trillion, a 4.4% rise over a year earlier.

This year, the southern hub expects to greet about 4.7 million foreign arrivals and serve 19 million domestic visitors. Aiming to the reach the target, the city’s tourism sector enhanced their promotion and marketing programmes overseas as well as having to improve the quality of tourism products and services.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh continues to focus on developing waterway tourism, intensifying the organising of more art programmes to serve tourists and carrying out the “Ho Chi Minh city -100 interesting things” programme./.
