Khon Kaen University (Thailand) tightens relations with Vietnamese community
(VNF) – The Vietnamese Language and Culture Day was recently held by the Vietnamese Consul-General and the Vietnamese Association in Khon Kaen province (Thailand).

The event brought together representive of the Vietnamese community in Khon Kaen province, Vietnamese students of Khon Kaen University and over 150 local students.
At the ceremony, the Vietnamese Consul-General presented a collection of Vietnamese language teaching materials, and books, photos depicting the country and people of Vietnam, as well as the Vietnam – Thailand ties.
In the gathering, the organizing board took the occasion to brief Khon Kaen University students on the life and revolutionary path of President Ho Chi Minh.
Meanwhile, the Thai students had the chance to learn Vietnamese folk song and dance, and traditional customs of Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tet). The event was wrapped up with the performance of the Trong Com song.

The Khon Kaen University is one of the two leading institutions in the province, with over 4,300 students.
Besides Vietnamese, the school offers majors in English, French, German and Chinese.
Last August, the Khon Kaen university signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Consul-General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen and the Vietnamese Association in the province to foster the study of Vietnamese language and culture./.
