(VNF) - The Lao Tourism Culture Days officially opened in Hanoi on July 17th in the presence of Mr. Phankham Viphavanh, Politburo member, Standing member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and Vice President of Laos, and Pham Binh Minh, Politburo member, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism,Bouangeun Xaphouvong, thanked the Vietnamese Party, State and people as a whole, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in particular, for having created favorable conditions for the Lao side to organise the Lao Tourism Culture Days in Vietnam.

Photo exhibitions are being held under the framework of the event, featuring friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; the achievements Laos has attained in its national construction and development cause; and Laos' country and people.

By organizing the Tourism Culture Days in Vietnam, Laos wishes to contribute to celebrating two historic milestones of the two countries, as well as to fostering the great friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, and promoting the image of Laos and its people.

Deputy Minister Bouangeun Xaphouvong affirmed that the Lao people always remember the precious support offered by the Vietnamese people, which contributed to the success of the Lao Revolution.

He expressed his wish that the two countries would continue educating younger generations on the tradition of Vietnam-Laos special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, so the fine tradition would be maintained and upheld forever after.

The Lao Tourism Culture Days in Vietnam and the Vietnamese Tourism Culture Days in Laos are organised simultaneously in both countries to mark the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017.

Via the abovementioned events, the people of Vietnam and Laos as well as international friends will have a better understanding of the relationship between the two countries, as well as their natural landscapes, people and cultures.

Earlier, Deputy PM and FM Pham Binh Minh hosted a banquet for Lao Vice President Phankham Viphavanh and the Lao delegation on the occasion of their visit to Vietnam to attend activities marking 55 years of bilateral diplomatic ties and 40 years since the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty on Amity and Cooperation./.
