On the occasion of the 70th celebration of the Vietnamese National Day, Lao National Television on September 2nd broadcast the news for the first time in Vietnamese, with an aim to strengthen the special relationship between the two countries.

The Vietnam News Agency reported that the Department for Vietnamese news from Lao National Television had just been established. Accordingly, news in Vietnamese is broadcast live from 6-6:15 p.m from Monday to Friday.

The news will comprehensively cover domestic and international events in the Vietnamese language, in order to disseminate the guidelines and policies of the Lao Party and State for the Vietnamese community in Laos as well as for Laotians and those who can speak Vietnamese.

Speaking during the first news broadcast ceremony, Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Savankhone Razmontry said that the news played a crucial role in the context that Vietnam and Laos were celebrating the two nations’ big events. He affirmed that the news did not only help the two peoples to understand more about each other but it would also be an effective channel for Vietnamese people in Laos.

For his part, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that the Lao National Television broadcasting news in Vietnamese on the occasion of Vietnam’s 70th National Day held great significance in proving the special relationship between the two countries.

He expressed his hope that the news would cover vivid programs to serve both the Vietnamese community in Laos and Laotians who know Vietnamese./.
