The Prime Minister has agreed with the proposal made by the Ba Ria -Vung Tau Provincial people’s Committee to build a large fishery centre to serve the southeastern fishing grounds.

Accordingly, this will be one of the six major fishery centres under Vietnam’s overall plan for fisheries development by 2020 with a vision until 2030.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, based on the development plan, this year, the country will give provide priority of investment to the Khanh Hoa provincial Fishery Centre in connection with the south of central Vietnam and Spratly Islands fishing grounds.

In the 2016 - 2020 period, the Da Nang city Fishery Centre in connection with the key fishing grounds in the East Sea and Paracel islands; the Hai Phong centre serving the Gulf of Tonkin fishing grounds; the Ba Ria – Vung Tau centre serving the southeastern fishing grounds; and the Kien Giang centre serving southwestern fishing grounds will be constructed./.
