Localities throughout Vietnam continued to hold a variety of activities on June 1st to show care for children on the occasion of the International Children's Day (June 1st) and the 2018 Action Month for Children.

In Hanoi, a series of cultural and heritage education activities was launched at the Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (the Temple of Literature) on June 1 which offered children useful summer activities, folk games, and folk art performances in addition to activities to educate children of the national culture and heritage.

The programme will take place during three months of the summer with the aim of providing an educational playground for Hanoi’s children.

In the central province of Khanh Hoa, local enterprises held a three-day festival for children with disabilities which attracted 600 disadvantaged children and 200 teachers from 40 schools in 24 provinces and cities from Quang Binh to Ca Mau.

The International Children Festival VTV 2018 was also organised in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province on June 1 with the participation of 120 children from eight countries including Vietnam, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Russia, the Philippines, Thailand, and China.

In NinhThuan southern province, the local authorities launched the Action Month for Children under the theme ‘For a safe and healthy life for children in the digital world’ which intended to limit the negative impacts of the digital world on children’s development while educating children about the safe and healthy use of digital technologies.

The southern province of Hau Giang held a ceremony to observe the Action Month for Children and announced the establishment of the Management Board of the provincial system of child protection and launched a network to connect with the National Switchboard 111 on child protection.

Meanwhile, Quang Nam and Ha Nam provinces presented gifts to disadvantaged children.

Many other localities throughout the country also held meaningful activities to care for children during the Action Month for Children 2018./.
