Oct 5 , Hanoi People’s Committee started work on Mai Dich – Nam Thang Long project.

Groundbreaking ceremony for Mai Dich - Nam Thang Long project

Total funding of the project is estimated at over VND 3 trillion, in which over VND 1 trillion is used for ground clearance.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said, the project is very important for traffic of the capital. This is the main road connecting the provinces of the north, northeast, industrial zones, Noi Bai airport,… with the center of Hanoi.

The elevated highway will run 5.5 km from the north end of the Mai Dich flyover to the interchange of south Thang Long bridge.

The four-lane highway will be 24 metres wide and allows vehicles to travel at a maximum speed of 100 kilometres per hour.

Mai Dich – Thang Long project is one of 52 key projects of Hanoi in the period 2016-2020. This is also an urgent project to reduce traffic congestion in Hanoi./.
