Mid-Autumn Festival introducing Dong Thap’s beauty

The beauty of the southern province of Dong Thap in the Mekong Delta, especially its Dong Thap Muoi inland wetland, has been an inspiration for generations of Vietnamese writes and poets. To help visitors to know more about the land and its people, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology organise the Mid-autumn event 2017 with the theme of “The Colors of Dong Thap Province”.

(VNF) - The beauty of the southern province of Dong Thap in the Mekong Delta, especially its Dong Thap Muoi inland wetland, has been an inspiration for generations of Vietnamese writes and poets. To help visitors to know more about the land and its people, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology organise the Mid-autumn event 2017 with the theme of “The Colors of Dong Thap Province”.

This is the occasion for attendants enjoy the performances by the folk artists and performers from the “Heart of the Mekong delta” introducing their culture through their “dieu ho” (chanties), local textile weaving techniques, and culinary skills.

The essential activities of the mid-autumn festival – mua lan (lion dance), playing folk games, making traditional toys, banh trung thu (mooncakes) and com Vong (Vietnamese green rice flakes from the famous Vong village) – will be the main attraction of the event.

Learing how to make toys from coconut leaves.

A combination of northern and southern cultures, these activities will offer participants great opportunities to discover the Vietnamese mid-autumn festival.

The event will be held on September 30th and Octorber 1st in Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (Nguyen Van Huyen, Cau Giay, Hanoi). Tickets are now available at the Museum./.
