National reunification day marked abroad
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of South liberation and National reunification day (April 30th), overseas Vietnamese have organized various activities to mark the important events.

On April 25th, the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada organized a meeting with the participation of overseas Vietnamese from Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal cities in Ottawa, Canada.

Ambassador To Anh Dung and the expatriates recalled the historical victory 40 years ago, which helped unify and bring independence and freedom to the homeland.

He praised Overseas Vietnamese for their significant contributions to promoting the Vietnam-Canada relationship as well as to the homeland’s development during recent decades.

Sharing their joy to witness the country’s developments in recent years, participating Overseas Vietnamese said they would continue their endeavours to tighten the relations between their host country and the homeland.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan on April 26th organized a meeting to mark the Day. Speaking at the event, Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung reviewed the historical victory on April 30th, 1975.

He also emphasized the responsibility of each Vietnamese citizen who worked or studied in Japan contributing to developing the Vietnam-Japan relationship as well as building and protecting the nation.

The participants also offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh and watched documentary films about the war and process to rebuild and develop the country./.
