New development in coastal areas of Bac Lieu province
There have been remarkable changes in production and infrastructure in coastal areas in the southern province of Bac Lieu, thanks to the implementation of the program on investing in infrastructure in extremely disadvantaged communes, coastal and island regions.
According to the provincial Department of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs, the implementation of policies under the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction over the past 5 years has brought about remarkable results, contributing to improving people’s living standards, creating positive changes in socio-economic areas, and reducing poverty by over 3% annually.
In addition, as the Government has issued a wide range of policies supporting poverty reduction in extremely disadvantaged coastal communes, especially in infrastructure improvement for production, and poverty in these areas has been reduced, from over 5,000 families in 2011 to over 800 in late 2015.
