(VNF) - Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc presented the Friendship Order – the noble distinction of the Vietnamese State – to outgoing Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Herminio Lopez Diaz at a ceremony in Hanoi on September 15th.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy FM lauded the Ambassador’s contributions towards arranging mutual visits at all levels and maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of bilateral cooperation mechanisms.

During his tenure, the Ambassador also worked hard to accelerate the negotiations, signing and implementation of bilateral cooperation agreements, especially in fields of economy, trade, investment, agriculture, fisheries, education-training, medicine-pharmaceuticals, finance-banking, and exchange between socio-political organisations.

Diaz, for his part, noted that the Cuban leaders and people always remember the solidarity and valuable support that the Vietnamese Party, State and people provided for the Cuban revolutionary cause.

He thanked Vietnamese ministries, agencies, localities and socio-political organisations for their active support and cooperation and hopes to continue working for the special solidarity between the two countries./.
