In the early morning of July 24th, the authorities discovered and seized a truck transporting more than 1,000 crocodiles without certificate of origin in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province.

When recognizing to be discovered by the authorities, owners of crocodiles ran into a forest and left the goods.

At the site, the authorities arrested driver Le Van Thanh, 42, and seized all exhibits including the truck and many wooden barrels containing crocodiles, which is estimated about 20 tonnes.

Mr. Thanh confessed that he was hired to transport the crocodile from Bac Lieu province to Mong Cai city.

Through checking, the authorities seized three licenses on special animal transport granted by Bac Lieu provincial Forest Management Department with total amount of 1,300 crocodiles. However, the batch of goods is alive animals, which haven’t any certificate of origin and is suspected to be illegal exported to China.

The case is under further investigation./.
