Over 1,000 disadvantaged people in Tra Vinh province provided with free healthcare

On September 5th, the Gia Dinh People’s Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City worked with Germany’s Merck Vietnam Co. Ltd. to give free healthcare to over 1,000 disadvantaged children in Tieu Can district, the southern province of Tra Vinh.

During the program, 34 doctors from the Gia Dinh People’s Hospital provided disadvantaged people with general check-ups and those for heart, gynaecology, eye, otorhinolaryngological diseases. The tests were conducted on equipment brought by staff from Merck Vietnam Ltd. Co.

Under the program, some 400 people received high blood pressure and diabetes disease prevention consultancy

This was the second consecutive year Merck Vietnam Co. Ltd. and Gia Dinh People’s Hospital cooperated in giving free health care to the poor. In 2014, the program took place in Thanh Hoa district, Long An Province, benefiting over 800 poor people./.
