Over 19,000 babies born during week-long Lunar New Year holiday
A total of 19,062 babies were born during the Lunar New Year holiday from February 14 to 20, according to Luong Ngoc Khue, Director of the Medical Service Administration under the Health Ministry.
A total of 19,062 babies were born during the Lunar New Year holiday from February 14 to 20.
Khue said reports from hospitals and health authorities nationwide showed more than 218,000 patients received medical checks and treatment during the period.
Medical establishments nationwide treated 37,376 victims of traffic accidents in the seven-day period, and 197 victims of firecrackers.
This year’s Tet saw a drop in the numbers of traffic accidents and fatalities, at 218 cases and 195 deaths, but a surge in firecracker accidents.
