Overseas Vietnamese in Malaysia organize 2nd communal festival

The 2nd communal festival was organized by the Vietnamese Liaison Committee on May 9th in the campus of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia to mark the 40th anniversary of Southern liberation and National reunification day (April 30th) and also the 125th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s birthday (May 19th).

Overseas Vietnamese in Malaysia organize 2nd communal festival
The 2nd communal festival was organized by the Vietnamese Liaison Committee on May 9th in the campus of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia to mark the 40th anniversary of Southern liberation and National reunification day (April 30th) and also the 125th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s birthday (May 19th).

Head of the Vietnamese Liaison Committee Tran Hong Chung said that the event aimed to raise the spirits towards the homeland during the great holidays of the nation as well as enhance solidarity among the overseas Vietnamese community in Malaysia.

Over the past year, the Vietnamese Liaison Committee has carried out various significant activities such as supporting flood victims in the Central region, supporting soldiers on Truong Sa archipelago, organizing marches to protest the Haiyang Shiyou-981 drilling rig illegally placed by China in the exclusive economic zone and continental shelf of Vietnam and organizing art and sports programs to mark the great holidays of the country

Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Pham Cao Phong praised the Vietnamese Liaison Committee in Malaysia for organizing the significant festival. He also reviewed the glorious history of the nation, highlighting the immense importance of liberating the south and National Reunification Day.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Women’s Club in Malaysia was set up with the aim of protecting the rights, helping each other in their daily life.

The participants also enjoyed a special art program and traditional dishes prepared by the committee./.
