(VNF) - President Tran Dai Quang congratulated the Vietnam – Laos Friendship Associations on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties, 40 years of the singing of the Vietnam – Laos Friendship and Cooperation Agreement and the Vietnam – Laos Solidarity and Friendship year 2017.

In his congratulatory message written on August 26, the President said the Vietnam – Laos Solidarity and Friendship year 2017 was an occasion for the two peoples to fully and deeply aware of the position and importance of the Vietnam - Laos relations. The special relations have gone through a glorious history, becoming a precious and sacred asset of the two peoples.

Maintaining and promoting the traditional friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos is the responsibility of all levels and sectors in which the Vietnam – Laos Friendship Associations plays a very important role, he said.

The President asked relevants authorities and agencities to work closely with the Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association to further persify activities, contributing to the success of the Vietnam – Laos Solidarity and Friendship year 2017./.
