Some 11,000 enterprises set up in four months

Vietnam had nearly 11,000 newly-established enterprises in April 2016 with a total registered capital of 62.2 trillion, up 19.2% in number of enterprises and 21.3% in capital over a year earlier, reported the General Statistics Office.

Totalling the first four months of the year, the country saw over 34,700 enterprises registered for new establishment with a total capital of over VND248.2 trillion, a 22.9% increase in number of enterprises and a 52.8% rise in capital compared to the same period last year.

The newly-established enterprises are expected to create jobs for over 427,000 workers.

Average registered capital of each enterprise reached VND7.1 billion, up 24.2%.

Regarding VND553.3 billion worth of increased capital, the total capital of enterprises contributing to the economy in the first four months was VND801.5 trillion.

During the four months, 11,331 enterprises resumed operation, a year-on-year rise of 79.4%.

However, the number of enterprises suspending operation in the period was 25,135, up 31.8% over a year earlier./.
