(VNF) - The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has decided to close a runway at Ho Chi Minh City-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport so that repairs can be made to lighting-hit areas.
The Tan Son Nhat airport management will close its 25R/07L runway from midnight on Thursday to Sunday for repairs to be carried out on two spots which measure some 10 square meters in diameter on the runway surface.
The CAAV has requested the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to step up surveillance and inspection to ensure flight safety and maintain Tan Son Nhat’s flight frequency of 30 flights per hour during the runway shutdown./.
