Summer camp 2015 for expatriate and Ho Chi Minh city’s youths

The Ho Chi Minh city Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union kicked off a summer camp on July 20th for expatriate youth and young people with the theme "Vietnam - My homeland".

Summer camp 2015 for expatriate and Ho Chi Minh city’s youths
The Ho Chi Minh city Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union kicked off a summer camp on July 20th for expatriate youth and young people with the theme "Vietnam - My homeland".

This Camp takes place from July 20th - 23rd with the participation of 60 campers, who are expatriates from different countries like the US, France, the Republic of Czech, Singapore, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia.

The campers will enjoy significant activities in Ho Chi Minh city and Ben Tre province such as offering flowers to the statue "Uncle Ho with children”, learning about the history, review tradition of the nation during the years of struggling for national independence and reunification, visiting the Ho Chi Minh campaign Museum; exchange with the theme "sleepless nights" to relive the sleepless nights of the city’s youth participating in the national resistance.

They will then travel to Ben Tre province to experience life on river in Southwestern region, visit the temple of female General Nguyen Thi Dinh and exchange with local youths.

Besides, the campers will incarnate into soldiers to reproduce five major military wings toward to liberate Saigon in 1975 Spring general offensive to liberate the South and national reunification.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hanh, Vice Head of the Ho Chi Minh city Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and head of the organizing committee, the Camp is organized annually with the aim of welcoming overseas Vietnamese to meet, exchange and carry out meaningful activities together with the youth in Ho Chi Minh city; learning about the history and changes of the city in order to further love the city.

So far, the Camps have welcomed more than 600 members worldwide, covering 17 provinces and cities throughout the nation./.
