In celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 34th Anniversary of the National Defense Festival (December 22), the Vietnam Peacekeeping Force at the UNISFA Mission organized many activities in the central Abyei area, to build good relationships and mutual assistance between the Vietnam People's Army and the local community.

Since Vietnam officially joined UN peacekeeping forces in 2014, it has successfully deployed over 500 personnel on peacekeeping missions and to the UN headquarters.
