Russian-born physicist Alexei Ekimov won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry alongside French-born Moungi Bawendi and American scientist Louis Brus for their research on tiny particles known as quantum dots on October 4.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences decided to award the 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry to Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Stanford University, Morten Meldal, University of Copenhagen, and K. Barry Sharpless, Scripps Research.

Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal, and K. Barry Sharpless became Nobel laureates for founding and advancing the fields of click chemistry and bioorthogonal chemistry, which has “led to a revolution in how chemists think about linking molecules together,” the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said.
