The United States attaches great importance to the comprehensive partnership with Vietnam, on the principle of respecting each other’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political institutions.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo voiced the US’s strong support for strengthening economic and trade ties with Vietnam during talks in Hanoi on October 30 with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
