Investment opportunities were at centre stage of a press conference held in Bangkok, on January 26 as part of a series of events marking the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Vietnam. Vietnam is still a destination for foreign investment, including Thailand because it is a large and growing market, said the Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry of Thailand.

The largest container packaging company by capacity in Thailand – BG Container Glass (BGC) - is pushing a deal to buy two Vietnamese Solar farms for over 1 billion baht. The firm is actively looking to expand its renewable energy division and Vietnam seems like an attractive opportunity.      

Thailand currently ranks ninth among 132 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. In recent years, Thai tycoons have acquired leading Vietnamese enterprises.
