Answering the press on the afternoon of December 24, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh quoted the international community and ASEAN member countries as saying that Vietnam excellently fulfilled its role as the 2020 ASEAN Chair despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

Regarding the East Sea issue, US Congressman Joaquin Castro of Texas affirmed that the ASEAN Caucus and he himself always protest acts that violate sovereignty, run counter to international law and the rules-based order, change the status quo and cause instability in the region.
