Thai Embassy grants scholarships to 100 needy students in Quang Nam province

(VNF) – The Embassy of Thailand in Vietnam, in coordination with the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) on March 5 presented scholarships worth VND 100 million to 100 needy students in Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province.

Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam, Manopchai Vongphakdi; Consul General of Thailand in HCM.City, Ureerat Ratanaprukse; Vice Director of NFVC, Nguyen Thi Hien; Vice President of Quang Nam province’s Fatherland Front, Nguyen Phi Hung; attended the scholarship granting ceremony.

Speaking at the event, the Thai Ambassador expressed his gladness to represent the governmental and private blocs in Thailand to contribute to charitable work in Vietnam.

In particular, he stressed the importance of paying attention to education for children, the essential manpower source for the country in the future.

100 scholarship holders were disadvantaged secondary students from Dai Loc district, who have overcome their difficulties to achieve excellent academic results.

The fund for the scholarships was raised by the Thai community in Vietnam./.
