The 9th Vietnam - India people's friendship festival to be held in India

(VNF) – Minister of Information and Communication Truong Minh Tuan on March 28 had a working session with Geetseh Sharma – Chair of the India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee of West Bengal State and leaders of All India Peace and Solidarity Organization in India.

At the meeting, Minister Tuan stated that Vietnam and India shares a long-standing friendship, credited to the initiatives of President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister Nehru.

45 years after diplomatic ties were officially established, Vietnam – India relations have been continuously evolving. The two countries have been unwaveringly lending supports to each other in all fields, in both domestic and international affairs.

At the meeting, minister Tuan expressed his belief in the flourishing prospect of bilateral ties. Based on the new framework and 45-year experiences of cooperation, the two nations will witness more robust growth in both friendly relations and strategic partnership, he stated.

The joint efforts of leaders and people from both Vietnam and India will practically benefit the people, and contribute to the peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity of the region and the world, stated Tuan.

Minister Tuan also said: “Being the president of the Vietnam – India Friendship Association (VIFA), I hope that following past achievements, the VIFA and the All India Peace and Solidarity Organization (AIPSO) will made further progress, and persify range of cooperations as well as propose new measures to practically strengthen strategic partnerships.

Currently, the two sides are working together to prepare for the 9th Vietnam – India People Friendship Festival which will be held in India, he added.

Recently, VUFO and VIFA have held many cooperation and friendship exchange with the IVSC.

Minister Tuan also spoke highly of the practical contributions which reinforce mutual understanding between Vietnam and India by Veetesh as an inpidual and by the IVSC.

In Mar 2014, Vietnam have awarded Geetesg the Medallion of Friendship, a state-level prestigious recognition for his dedication.

The Minister also hope that in coming years, the two friendship associations of Vietnam and India will keep walking together on their track of nourishing the friendship, and come up with more creative ideas and measures to foster the ties between two associations as well as the two countries./.
