Thousands youths join Youth Volunteer Campaign Summer 2018
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee coordinated with Long An province to launch the Youth Volunteer Campaign Summer 2018, in Tan An city, Long An province, on June 2nd.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC's Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Truong Thi Mai, praised the volunteer spirit and contributions of the youth, through volunteer movements and the volunteer summer campaign, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State.
She suggested that the youth and youth organisations continue to show innovation in their contents and methods of activities, and improve their professionalism. She urged the volunteer campaigns to focus on urgent issues, such as environmental protection, traffic safety, and civilised urban construction, and effectively play the core role of the youth union in volunteer activities, while attracting a large number of youths and other forces in society to participate in the activities.
The Youth Volunteer Youth Campaign in 2018 will take place from June 3rd to August 31st, with the theme "Youth Creation, Volunteering for the Community". It will include an array of activities like Tiep Suc Mua Thi (Assistance during Exam Season), Hoa Phuong do (flamboyant flower) campaign, Ky nghi hong (Red Holiday), and Hanh quan xanh (green operation).

The activities will be organised in 93 impoverished districts and the districts which have just escaped from poverty, polluted areas in 28 coastal provinces and cities, and international land in Laos and Cambodia.
As planned, the youths will repair 1,000 kilometres of road, construct 120 kilometres of new road, build 100 modern streets across the nation, and provide free medical examinations and medicines for 500,000 residents. Meanwhile, beach cleanup activities will be maintained in all 28 coastal localities.
At the launching ceremony, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee presented 70 gifts to poor students and policy beneficiary families. Also, nine schools worth over VND 10 billion (USD 440,000), 13 mobile swimming pools worth 650 million VND (USD 28,600), 37 playgrounds worth VND 1.65 billion (USD 72,600), and four clean water facilities worth VND 40 million (USD 1,760) were handed over to the locality.
