The HCM City People’s Committee has authorized its Department of Tourism to cooperate with necessary departments and agencies to develop tours of Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, reported the Voice of Vietnam (VOV).

According to travel agents, tours of Truong Sa will not only be excited and interesting to tourists, but also help Vietnamese people show-off their patriotism.

On February 9, the Ministry of Transport announced that it will implement a project and complete the legal framework for opening domestic flights to Truong Sa in 2015.

Last year, Hoa Binh Travel Company opened tours of Truong Sa, DK1 and DK2 platforms and the surrounding islands lasting 7 days/6 nights. Visitors flew from Haiphong to HCM City and then took vessels from Saigon port to arrive at Truong Sa.

Others will have a chance to visit DK1 and DK 2 platforms, Bach Ho and Rong oil fields and Truong Sa Lon, Sinh Ton, Song Tu Tay and Da Tay island. Future plans include joining cultural and sports exchanges with island soldiers and visiting historical interests, related specifically to sovereignty protection with Truong Sa./.
