Tuyet Mai wins two bronzes at Asian weightlifting tour

(VNF) - Female weightlifting athlete Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai won two bronze medals in the Clean & Jerk, and Total events at the Asian Weightlifting Championships 2016 which is being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan between April 22nd - 30th.

It was the 46th men's and 27th women's championship.

In the 63kg female event, competitors from Thailand and China demonstrated their power. In the Snatch category, Tuyet Mai ranked 5th, after the teams of Thailand, China, the Republic of Korea, and India.

While in the Clean & Jerk category, even seeing impossible competition from rivals Thailand (Gulnoi Siripuch, gold, 131kg weight class), and China (Chen Guiming, silver, 121kg weight class), the Vietnamese girl step by step conquered 116kg and 120kg weight classes to pocket her bronze medal.

It meant that in the Total event, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai won a bronze medal with 211kg weight class, while Gulnoi Siripuch finished first with 234kg weight class, and Chen Guiming came out second with 217kg weight class.

Earlier, her teammate Vuong Thi Huyen won a silver medal at the 48kg’s Snatch category.

On April 28th, the Vietnamese delegation will compete in the 69kg event.

The ticket for country to the Olympics 2016 will be finalized on April 30th, as the Top 6 are to be announced./.
